We met through a mutual friend at a cozy wine bar expecting nothing more than a fun evening of casual converstaion— and ended up finding an instant connection. We were both shocked (and a little impressed) to discover a shared knowledge in the field of fiber optics — not exactly known for being full of women — and he definitely scored points for how genuinely excited he was that I knew my stuff. I thought he was charming, cute, and easy to talk to, and after we completely lost track of time, we headed to dinner to keep the night going. By the end of the evening, the connection felt so natural that I casually invited him to join a Hawaii trip I had planned three months later… and the rest is history.

It’s the closest major airport to The Woodlands and has the most flight options. Distance to The Woodlands: about 25–30 minutes by car (depending on traffic). William P. Hobby Airport (HOU)Another airport in Houston, William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), is farther away and usually takes closer to 1 hour to reach The Woodlands. <a href="https://www.fly2houston.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Airport Websites</a> Getting from the AirportThe Woodlands is not very transit-friendly, so we recommend: - Uber or Lyft: Easy and widely available at IAH- Rental car: A good option if you plan to explore- Taxi or private car service: Rides from IAH to The Woodlands typically range from $50–$90, depending on time of day and traffic. 1. Market Street - Upscale outdoor shopping + great restaurants + wine bars. Perfect for a casual stroll.2. The Woodlands Waterway - Scenic walking path along the water with patios, brunch spots, and boat rides. 3. Lake Woodlands - Kayaking, paddleboarding, or just a peaceful walk by the water.4. Local Breweries - Chill hangouts like B-52 Brewing Co. (great outdoor space).

Worth the Drive into Houston (45–75 min)

1. Space Center Houston - Actual spacecraft, NASA history — surprisingly cool even for non-space nerds.2. Houston Museum District - Cluster of major museums. Easy to spend half a day.3. Buffalo Bayou Park - Skyline views, walking trails, pretty sunset spot.4. Rice Village - Walkable area near Rice University filled with boutiques, coffee shops, and great casual restaurants — perfect for brunch or an afternoon stroll.

Which airport should I fly into?

The closest airport is George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), about 25–30 minutes from The Woodlands. It’s the easiest option for most guests.

Do I need to rent a car?

It’s recommended. The Woodlands is very spread out, and while Uber/Lyft are available, having a car makes getting to restaurants, hotels, and events easier.

Where is the wedding venue?

Our celebration will be held at The Woodlands Country Club Palmer Ballroom at 100 Grand Fairway, The Woodlands, TX 77381.

Where should I stay?

We have rooms blocked at a hotel near the venue. Details and booking link are listed on the Travel page.

How early should I arrive?

We recommend arriving 15–20 minutes early to allow time for parking and getting settled before the ceremony.

Is traffic a concern?

Houston traffic can be unpredictable, especially on weekdays from 7–9 AM and 4–7 PM, so please allow a little extra travel time.

What’s the dress code?

Cocktail attire — suits, dresses, jumpsuits, or dressy separates are all perfect.

Are kids welcome?

We kindly request no children at our wedding. While we love your little ones, we have decided to keep our wedding an adults-only event. We hope you understand!

Will transportation be provided?

A shuttle will be provided from Hyatt Place beginning at 4:45. If you are staying at another location, please notify Shannon at 713-703-2542. Shuttle will be available to return to hotel until 12:00 PM.

What’s the weather like?

Expect warm, possibly humid weather. Lightweight fabrics and comfortable shoes are a good idea, especially for the wedding itself which is outdoors.

IS PARKING PROVIDED AT VENUE?

Valet parking will be provided. Please follow signs for attendants to assist. Please allow extra time.

Our Registry

We invite the bridal party and out of town guests to please join us after the rehearsal for dinner at 6:00pm. Attire is dressy casual. Please RSVP when submitting your RSVP for the wedding. We kindly ask you do so by April 10, 2026.
